about

ladypope is a fibers project by me, Brigid, eponymous with my high school sports team: the Pius XI Lady Popes. These vessels are an exploration of the space between the sacred and the dingy; the sweet and the rotten. I’ve long treasured that mashup of divinity and impossibility. To be a pope, while learning you will never be the Pope, while drilling down on ladyhood.

Milwaukee-born, I trained in Textiles at Rhode Island School of Design (RISD). For a decade I’ve worked across interior design, surface design, and material development for architectural products, living in water-poor Western cities like Santa Barbara, Phoenix, and Los Angeles.

ladypope prioritizes the slow and circuitous over the streamlined. The lumpy over the rigid. The jammy over the hard boiled. Still plenty to learn and unlearn. But ladypope for life.
